While I haven’t been everywhere, I have been on the road. I personally want to thank all the people with whom I spoke. I had a marvelous time! And if you did happen to purchase Pillow Book of the Flower Samurai and have a comment, question or concern, please write me.
Special kudos to my husband who took the pictures and followed me around carrying lots of stuff. He is a great playmate and I am grateful for him every day.
Special thanks also to the Community Relations Managers at the Barnes and Noble bookstores and Quest Bookshop, namely: Sandra at the Barnes & Noble in San Antonio, Sandi at the Barnes & Noble in Charlottesville, Kay at the Quest Bookshop in Charlottesville, and Steve at the Barnes & Noble in Richmond. THANK YOU ALL!
Here I am speaking at the Quest Bookshop: The hardest part of going into a bookshop while I’m away from home is to remember that I have to pack all the books I buy.
Can you believe how beautifully the books are displayed? I tried, after a some people actually had the audacity to take them out of the bookstore (hopefully after paying, of course you did, I’m just kidding!), to set them up as nicely as Steve had. Sorry Steve, I couldn’t do what you did!
Conversing with David in Charlottesville. I always have such a good time speaking with other writers and authors and in this case, also a publisher. What were we both so excited about? Scrivener: it’s been an excellent tool for me in writing the sequel of Pillow Book of the Flower Samurai.
First and last, here I am on my home turf at the Barnes and Noble in San Pedro Crossing, in San Antonio, Texas. Here I did a reading from Pillow Book of the Flower Samurai and also from its many waka and some other poems recently published by Dos Gatos Press.
Thank you again for everyone who has listened and from whom everyone I have learned!
Barbara
